Muskingum's spring sports student-athletes honored with Academic All-OAC
NEW CONCORD, OHIO, May 23, 2008 - The Ohio Athletic Conference has announced that 11 Muskingum College spring sports student-athletes have been recognized with Academic All-OAC honors.
Receiving the honor were junior softball outfielder Jessica Bosway (Chagrin Falls/Kenston), senior softball catcher Kari Hoying (Russia/Russia Local), junior softball designated player Randi Dance (Olmsted Falls), senior softball shortstop Jamie Echelberger (Ashland/Hillside), sophomore baseball catcher Brock Whiteman (New Concord/John Glenn), senior baseball designated hitter Brock Huntsman (Barnesville), senior cross country/track & field athlete Justin Walters (Pickerington), senior track & field athlete Amanda Smith (Newark/Lakewood), sophomore track & field athlete Samantha Bice (Dresden/Tri-Valley), sophomore track & field athlete Amy Adams (Baltimore, Md.) and senior women's golfer Corey Chuhaloff (Olmsted Falls).
The academic award winners are selected by the OAC Faculty Representatives. To be eligible for Academic All-OAC, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.25 cumulative grade-point-average, be a starter or key reserve and be in at least his/her second year of participation in the sport.
