NEW CONCORD, OHIO, May 22, 2008 - Muskingum College junior Deanna Dobos' quest for a national title in the 400 meter hurdles ended Thursday at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships at J.J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

Dobos' time of 64.46 in heat three of round one just missed the qualifying time for the finals on Saturday. The time of 62.09 was the last student-athlete to qualify for the championship run.
"This was Deanna's first-year competing in the hurdles and to be able to improve as much as she did over the course of the year and qualify for the NCAA Championships is amazing," said Muskingum Head Track & Field Coach Bill Copper. "Her experience at nationals as a junior will help her continue to improve over the next year and will give her an understanding of what to expect in the future for indoor and outdoor championships next year. To be 16th in the nation is a great accomplishment in your first-year of competing in an event."
Dobos qualified for the national meet after running a season-best time of 62.73 in the 400 hurdles at the North Central College Last Chance Meet on May 17. Her qualifying time was the 12th fastest in Division III this season.
