OhioLINK's Digital Media Center contains a wide variety of images, sound and movies.

Digital Videos
Digital Video Collection contains 1,960+ digital videos on various topics in the humanities, social sciences and natural sciences. The files may be viewed on-line or downloaded. You will need to have the RealPlayer installed to view these digital videos. more information

Encyclopedia of Physics Experiments contains over 600 videos illustrating the principles of physics. You will need to have the RealPlayer installed to view these digital videos

Foreign Language Video Instruction developed by the ViewPoints Project of the Five Colleges of Ohio Consortium contains approximately 225 foreign language digital video clips in Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Russian, and Swahili. The clips are of native speakers discussing their countries culture. You will need to have Apple's QuickTime Player installed to view these digital video clips. more information

Digital Sounds
Naxos Music Library is a comprehensive collection of online classical music, offering over 85,000 tracks. Music is available for listening at a library computer using headphones or from any computer on campus connected to the network. Please remember click on the red Logout button when you are done using this database! more information

Borror Laboratory of Bioacoustics is a collection of 20,000 recordings of songbirds and warblers from The Ohio State University. You will need to have the RealPlayer installed to listen to these sound files. more information

Chronicling America: Historic American Newspapers from the Library of Congress is a collection of 25 newspapers printed from 1900-1910. more information

Historical & Archival Collections contains over 3,200 historical images of Ohio from archives around the state. more information

  • Greek & Latin Inscriptions is a collection of digitized squeezes (accurate paper impressions) of inscriptions from Greece, Italy, and Macedonia.
  • Historic Maps of Akron and Summit County, Ohio
  • Kent State Shootings Oral History is a collection of recordings related to the May 4, 1970 shootings of Vietnam War protestors at Kent State University.
  • Lake Erie's Yesterday is a collection of historic photographs of northwestern Ohio, documenting the local history of the Erie Islands and Lake Erie's western basin.
  • Mayan Archaeology includes Mayan architecture and scenery from Mexico, Honduras, and Guatemala and serves as a resource for the exploration of the various and complex interrelationships within Mayan society.
  • National Underground Freedom Center is a collection of documents related to slavery, abolition, and emancipation.
  • E.W. Scripp's Papers, 1868-1826 is a collection of letters and photos of Edward Willis Scripps (1854-1926) who was a businessman and journalist associated with the founding of the Scripps Howard chain of newspapers and the United Press International independent news gathering company.
  • Wright Brothers Collection documents the invention of the airplane, the lives of the Wright Family, and the Wrights' flying exhibitions in Europe and the United States.

images.MD (off-campus access) is a collection of 55,000+ medical images. more information

LANDSAT 7 Images of Ohio contains images of Ohio taken by the LANDSAT 7 satellite for the US Geological Survey starting in 1999. The images can be used to track growth of metropolitan areas, changes of natural resources, and other issues related to land usage in the state. The images are available in monochrome, color, infrared, and NDVI (Normalized Differential Vegetation Index) formats. more information

NYPL Digital Gallery contains 520,000 images from primary sources and printed rarities from the collections of The New York Public Library.

Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps of Ohio cities and villages produced created by the Sanborn Fire Insurance company during 1867-1970. These maps can be used to track development and for historical research. more information
