Seamus Reilly
Head Coach

Coach ReillySeventh-year Muskingum coach Seamus Reilly brings both years of coaching and on-the-field experience to the Fighting Muskie men's soccer team.

Reilly has transformed the Muskies into a highly competitive program during his first six years. He ranks second all-time in Muskingum men’s soccer history in wins, and in 2006 and in 2004, guided Muskingum to 10 wins which tied the 1992 squad for most wins in a season. Furthermore, the Muskies tied the school record of consecutive shutouts with two. In 2003, the team set a new school record with 49 goals scored. Under Reilly’s guidance, six Muskies have been honored with All-Ohio Athletic Conference honors and one player garnered All-Region recognition.

Throughout his 20-year coaching career, Reilly has gained valuable coaching experience at all levels of the game. This past summer, Reilly was given the history-making distinction of coaching the West Virginia Olympic Development State Team against the India National Soccer U-16 Team in Schoenbaum Stadium in Charleston, West Virginia. The event marked the first time that India’s National Soccer Team had ever set foot on United States soil. He began his career with the Manchester United F.C. Soccer Academy in England and has held collegiate level coaching jobs for such programs as Walsh University, Middlebury College, Baldwin-Wallace College and most recently, Youngstown State University. As an assistant coach with Middlebury College, Reilly helped guide the Panthers to the NCAA Division III men’s soccer regional finals in 2000, and in 1996, coached the women's program at Walsh University to its first winning season in the school’s history.

Reilly has had a colorful playing career, with playing experience in both collegiate and professional ranks. While playing for Walsh University (1993-97), Reilly led the team to its first NAIA National Tournament appearance and a final season ranking of fourth in the country. Currently, Reilly stands as the sixth all-time goal scorer at Walsh (34), eighth in all-time points (86) and tenth all-time assist leader (18). Prior to college, he was a member of the Manchester United and Manchester City youth programs, two of the most storied clubs in England.

Reilly also serves as the head men’s tennis coach and is an instructor in the Health and Physical Education Department.
