Meet The Coaches
Mary Beth Caudill
Head Coach
Mary Beth Caudill is in her 13th year as head coach of the women’s soccer program at Muskingum.
This enthusiastic and veteran coach is the all-time winningest coach in Muskingum women’s soccer history. Last season, she guided the Muskies to a record-breaking campaign in which Muskingum set new school records for goals in a season, goals in a game, assists in a game, points in a game, shots in a game and consecutive shutouts. Furthermore, the Muskies tied the school mark for longest unbeaten streak.
She led the Black & Magenta to its most non-conference wins in program history in 2005 and led the team to a history-making Ohio Athletic Conference tournament appearance in 2001. Furthermore, numerous Muskies have garnered conference, regional and national honors under Caudill’s tutelage. Caudill’s excellence on the sideline was recognized by the Ohio Collegiate Soccer Officials Association when they honored her with the Distinguished Excellence in Sports Merit Award for exhibiting sportsmanship and character before, during, and after matches.
Caudill earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Wright State University (WSU) in Dayton, Ohio. She served as captain of the Raiders NCAA Division I women’s soccer team and was a GTE Academic All-American and team MVP. Additionally, Caudill was recognized as the Raiders’ Student-Athlete of the Year two consecutive years. In May of 2001, she was inducted to the WSU Athletic Hall of Fame, and in October of 2003 was inducted into the WSU Soccer Walk of Fame. In August of 1994, the West Carrollton, Ohio, native started her coaching career as the assistant women’s soccer coach at WSU.
Professionally, Caudill played five seasons in the W-League. She was a member of the Cincinnati Leopards, Cleveland Eclipse and Cincinnati LadyHawks. She was honored by the league for her caliber of play by being named all-league and Player of the Week multiple times. Caudill’s amateur success as a striker includes three trips to the Donnelly Cup National Championship on the Ohio South Women’s Open team, the last of which she guided the squad as a player/coach.
She currently holds a United States Soccer Federation “B” coaching license and is a member of the National Soccer Coaches of America. Additionally, she holds a Level II NSCAA Advanced Goalkeeping Diploma.
Caudill, formerly Lengefeld, was married to Tom Caudill in July of 2003. They currently reside in New Concord, with their two-and-a-half-year-old son, Tanner, and four-month-old son, Ty.
Sarah Reams
Assistant Coach
Sarah Reams is entering her first season as assistant coach for the women’s soccer program at Muskingum.
Reams was a four-year letterwinner and captain for the Fighting Muskies. During her tenure, she played in 74 career collegiate contests and was honored with Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference honors.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from Muskingum in 2008.
Tom Caudill
Volunteer Assistant Coach
Tom Caudill is entering his fifth season as a volunteer assistant coach for the women’s soccer program at Muskingum.
Caudill, a National Soccer Coaches of America member, has attended various clinics through the NSCAA and was trained in Level I and Level II NSCAA Advanced Goalkeeping. He assists with aspects of practice, games, recruiting and team functions. Caudill also serves as a guest lecturer, first year seminar instructor and sports information director at Muskingum.
He earned his bachelor’s degree from The Ohio State University and his master’s degree from Muskingum College. |
